All reportsResearch overview
Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide with an acetylated N-terminus, originally isolated from thymus tissue and derived from the larger protein prothymosin alpha. It is one of the best-characterised thymic peptides, with a long research history in T-cell maturation and immune signalling, including effects through Toll-like receptors on dendritic cells.
A synthetic form, thymalfasin, is approved as a medicine in a number of countries, though not in the UK, the US or the EU. In research it serves as a defined reference peptide for immune-cell signalling studies. Supplied lyophilized with a batch lab report; store it frozen and dry.
