Research overview

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a peptide found naturally in human plasma, saliva and urine whose levels decline with age. In solution the complex has a characteristic blue colour.

GHK-Cu is one of the most studied molecules in extracellular-matrix research: it stimulates both the synthesis and the breakdown of collagen and glycosaminoglycans, attracts immune and endothelial cells in wound models, and gene-expression analyses suggest it shifts the activity of thousands of genes. Keep it away from strong chelators and reducing agents. Read our GHK-Cu research overview for details.
