All reportsResearch overview
DSIP, delta sleep-inducing peptide, is a nonapeptide (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) first isolated in 1977 from the blood of rabbits in which slow-wave sleep had been induced. It was named for its reported ability to promote delta-wave (deep) sleep in the animals that received it.
Despite decades of research, no specific DSIP receptor or gene has been confirmed, and reported effects on sleep, stress hormones and body temperature have been inconsistent between studies. That makes DSIP an interesting but unresolved molecule in neuropeptide research. Plan careful controls and check identity on the lab report; the peptide is small and dissolves readily in water.

Questions
Where was DSIP discovered?
In 1977, in blood from rabbits with induced slow-wave sleep, by Schoenenberger and Monnier in Switzerland.
Is the DSIP receptor known?
No specific receptor has been confirmed, which is one reason its mechanism remains debated.
What's in the vial?
DSIP at the strength you choose. No diluent or accessories are included.
Can I check the lab report for my vial?
Yes. The batch number on your vial matches a report on this page or in our lab report library, with a link to verify it on the lab's website where available.
Is this product for human use?
No. It's sold for laboratory research use only and isn't for human or veterinary use.
