All reportsResearch overview
A dilute 0.6% acetic acid solution in sterile water, supplied as a laboratory reagent for dissolving peptides that are poorly soluble in neutral water. Basic peptides, those rich in lysine, arginine or histidine, often dissolve more easily at the slightly acidic pH it provides.
Try a small portion of your peptide first, and if it dissolves, dilute further in your working buffer as needed, checking that the final pH suits your experiment. Include the same solvent in your vehicle control. See our guide to handling lyophilized peptides for how to choose between water, bacteriostatic water and dilute acid.

Questions
Which peptides need acetic acid to dissolve?
Mostly basic peptides rich in lysine, arginine or histidine, and some that resist neutral water.
Does the acid affect my experiment?
It can lower the pH, so dilute into your working buffer, check the final pH and use the same solvent in controls.
What's in the vial?
Acetic acid 0.6% solution at the strength you choose. No diluent or accessories are included.
Is this product for human use?
No. It's sold for laboratory research use only and isn't for human or veterinary use.
