Research overview
Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that shares 97% of its sequence with human GLP-1, with arginine at position 34 and a C16 palmitic acid attached at lysine 26 through a glutamate spacer. Albumin binding and self-association give it a half-life of around 13 hours, suited to once-daily designs.
Liraglutide was the direct predecessor of semaglutide at Novo Nordisk and remains a common reference compound in GLP-1 receptor research and as an active comparator in clinical studies of newer molecules. Comparing it with semaglutide shows how a longer fatty-acid chain and DPP-4 protection change duration of action. Supplied lyophilized as a reference material.

Questions
How is liraglutide different from semaglutide?
Liraglutide has a C16 fatty acid and lasts about a day; semaglutide has a C18 fatty diacid, an extra change at position 8 and lasts about a week.
What is liraglutide used for in research?
As a reference GLP-1 receptor agonist and as a comparator for newer incretin and amylin compounds.
What's in the vial?
Liraglutide at the strength you choose. No diluent or accessories are included.
Can I check the lab report for my vial?
Yes. The batch number on your vial matches a report on this page or in our lab report library, with a link to verify it on the lab's website where available.
Is this product for human use?
No. It's sold for laboratory research use only and isn't for human or veterinary use.
